Four years, yet slightly underwhelming

Back when this was announced I was a huge fan of flashes like this, and when the trailer made its way onto Newgrounds I can only recall how much this was a massive hit. The animation was almost way before its time so to speak. But with the time since then I can't say it's aged perfectly. The art is generally good, but while only half of the animations are fluid and very well done, the other half is generally a bit on the sub par side so to speak. The characters and backgrounds don't really mix that well until the second half as they contrast heavily, and some characters such as Tails are pretty poorly done in general.

That's not to say that this movie was bad and not an entertaining watch. The fight scenes are intense and your effects are very impressive. It looks highly professional. What stood out most was how you handled the smoke, and your 3D effects were executed greatly and added a nice touch. Still some of the best effects I've seen a Flash offer. Your choices in music were also well, and the plot works for what it is. A straight no holds barred battle there to entertain the viewer and at the same time show off and experiment with your talent. However, the Knuckles vs Chaos scene feels a bit cut short and filler.

Overall, while I understand your reasons for putting it off for so long, I don't think the end result lived up to the massive hype. But for what it was, it was pretty fun and had me inspired to get back into Flash animating again. I wouldn't mind watching it again, and I look forward to see what the future holds for you as your talent is really something.

Masterful

I rarely write reviews nowadays, let alone music reviews. But having personally gotten out of touch with the Madness series for some time I was happy to see it return with a bang. Part of what has made the Madness series so engaging over the years has always been the music, clearly showing the shift in tone from just plain old over-the-top cartoon violence to violence with a purpose and meaning, adding some serious implications as to where this series was headed, and the music was what I think made that change all the more obvious.

This song in particular really takes me back as I haven't been as invested into the setting that a Madness theme could help convey since Madness 7, which is personally why I just loved the fact that you added in an excerpt from that particular tune in this one. Much like that song, this one puts forth one single fact, and that's that the stakes are higher than ever. It's intense, fulfilling, not a single second goes to waste, and the dynamics are unparalleled. It's as if we're slowly reaching the endgame of Madness.

But hey, Madness 7 deceived me into thinking we were reaching the end, and I can see this doing the same. If so, I'll be perfectly fine with it, cause that means more godly music to expect from your way. This is a fantastic track, keep up the amazing work, and keep adding more Madness to the Madness.

Wow!! I don't know what to say! Everything you "saw" in this music was totally personal to you and yet, when I read this post and listen to the song, it makes me feel everything you wrote down. That's why I love music, there;s so much room for interpretation! Awesome comment! Thank you so much!
